This term our Art focus is FABRIC and FIBRE. We started with learning how to weave using paper. Later in the term we will weave with fabric, fibres and collected things.
Last week we started to make our calico bears. We cut out the shapes, decorated them with heat set crayons and this week we will sew them up and stuff them. We can't wait!!!!

In Handwriting we focus on our STAR skills when we practise. Each handwriting session we have a handwriting STAR of the day. Their book is then displayed so we can all see the fantastic work they have done.

Kia ora!
Welcome To Room 6 Blog.
We are a Year 1/2 class of 20 students - 12 boys and 8 girls.
Over the past weeks we have been getting to know each other as a class. We have been busy setting up our classroom and programme of learning. During this time we have been doing LOTS of fun things.
Here is our BIG birthday cake with glittery candles to show when our birthdays are.

In our first week we drew and wrote about our holidays. We think they look great!

On Thursdays we go to the library. Mrs Ross and Mrs Holden help us choose books to borrow for the week. Mrs Ross always reads us a great story and Mrs Holden issues our books for us. We were so excited about getting our very own Bluestone library bag to carry our books in.

In week 2 and 3 we went to the Life Education van. We loved meeting Harold the giraffe! We learnt that we have lungs to breathe oxygen and we need clean air to breathe. We made cute Harold's with stretchy necks!
